Silva in Major League Baseball
Click on the picture below to see a report that aired on the CBS television program 60 Minutes on July 13, 1975, that tells the story of why the Chicago White Sox opened their spring training to Silva Mind Control.
Two of the young players who took the course, Goose Gossage and Bucky Dent (wearing Number 30), went on to have hall of fame careers. Dent was named Most Valuable Player in the 1978 World Series, while playing with the New York Yankees.
“The Silva Method helped me with my concentration, and it helped me to relax before the pressures of a game,” Dent told us in 1992 after he had become the manager of the Yankees. He added that, "I would recommend it to my younger players."
